Privacy notice
Your private information, handled with purpose.
EMA Consulting Group, of Azuria Street, Tse Addo, Accra, Ghana, operates Elite Match Africa and is the controller of personal information described in this notice. This notice applies to applicants, members, prospective matches, website visitors and people who contact us.
Effective 27 August 2026
01Information we collect
We collect information you provide, information created while delivering the service, and limited technical information needed to operate the website.
- Identity and contact details, age confirmation, location and professional context.
- Relationship goals, preferences, values, cultural or religious context, family context and other application answers you choose to provide.
- Photographs, consultation records, matchmaker notes, introduction feedback and private communications.
- Identity or verification documents requested for a defined verification purpose.
- Membership, invoice and payment status; payment-card details are handled by the payment provider and are not stored by EMA.
- Security, consent, audit and optional anonymous first-party analytics records.
02Why we use it
We use information to assess applications, conduct consultations, provide human-curated matchmaking, manage introductions and membership, communicate service notices, verify identity where requested, protect people and systems, meet legal obligations and improve the service. We rely on consent where required, steps requested before or performance of a contract, legitimate interests that do not override your rights, and legal obligations. Optional marketing and anonymous analytics require separate permission.
03Sensitive information
Relationship, belief, identity and lifestyle information can be especially private and may receive additional protection under applicable law. You choose what to disclose. EMA limits access to authorised personnel with a service need and does not use intimate information for advertising or sell it.
04Who receives information
Information may be available to assigned matchmakers and authorised operations, privacy, finance or security personnel. We use service providers for hosting and deployment (GoDaddy), database, authentication and private storage (Supabase), transactional email (Resend), scheduling (Cal.com), payments (Stripe where enabled), security verification (Cloudflare Turnstile) and professional advice. Providers receive only what is needed for their role. We may disclose information where lawfully required or to protect rights, safety and security.
05Introductions and disclosure
EMA is not a public directory. A matchmaker controls the introduction process. We disclose selected information to a proposed match only at an appropriate stage and according to the applicable consent and service workflow. We do not promise that another person will keep information confidential, so members also receive confidentiality responsibilities.
06International processing
EMA serves people across Africa and diaspora communities, and our providers or authorised personnel may process information in other countries. Privacy protections can differ. Where a restricted international transfer rule applies, EMA will use a legally recognised transfer basis or safeguard and will provide available information about it on request. We do not claim that every country has been deemed adequate by every regulator.
07Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the application, membership, safety, dispute, accounting, consent and legal purposes for which it was collected. Retention depends on record type, relationship status, legal obligations and active claims. When information is no longer required, we delete, anonymise or securely restrict it. You may request the criteria applying to a particular record.
08Your choices and rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection; withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing; opt out of marketing; and complain to the Ghana Data Protection Commission or your local supervisory authority. Some requests may be limited by legal duties, the rights of others, safety, fraud prevention or legal claims. We verify identity before fulfilling a private-data request.
09Security and incidents
EMA uses access controls, private storage, encryption for designated sensitive fields, short-lived file links, audit records and operational review. No system is completely secure. We investigate suspected incidents and notify affected people and regulators when required by applicable law.
10Age, automation and changes
The service is for adults aged 18 and over. EMA does not knowingly accept applications from children. Matchmaking decisions are made by authorised people, not solely by automated scoring. We may update this notice when the service or law changes; material changes will be dated and communicated where required.
